Bromley Psychology operates from Bromley House, a centrally located heritage Victorian house built in 1857. This private and serene property contains child-friendly and spacious consulting rooms and Butterfly, the resident therapy cat.
Bromley Psychology is owned and operated by Dr Simone Heeney, a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience assessing, diagnosing and treating children and adolescents with social, emotional, behavioural and learning disorders.
Dr Simone opened Bromley House in 2004 and prior to that she was a secondary school teacher for 10 years in Melbourne and London. She has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, a Diploma of Education from the Australian Catholic University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychology from the University of Melbourne and a Doctorate in Psychology (Clinical) from Federation University.
As a Clinical Psycologist, Dr Simone is different from a general psychologist as she specialises in assessment of “disorder” such as:
A psychologist is also different from a psychiatrist as they are not medically trained and cannot prescribe medication. If medication is indicated, Dr Simone works closely with local paediatricians to coordinate treatment options.
Simone is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is an NDIS provider.
Butterfly has no qualifications.
