Bromley Psychology is a clinical psychological assessment service for individuals from 6 years of age to adult.

About Bromley Psychology

Bromley Psychology is owned and operated by Dr Simone Heeney, a Clinical Psychologist with 20 years’ experience assessing, diagnosing and treating children and adolescents with social, emotional, behavioural and learning disorders.

Dr Simone started Bromley Psychology in 2004 and prior to that she was a secondary school teacher for 10 years in Melbourne and London. She has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne, a Diploma of Education from the Australian Catholic University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychology from the University of Melbourne and a Doctorate in Psychology (Clinical) from Federation University.

As a Clinical Psychologist, Dr Simone is different from a general psychologist as she specialises in assessment of “disorders” such as:

A psychologist is also different from a psychiatrist as they are not medically trained and cannot prescribe medication. If medication is indicated, Dr Simone works closely with local paediatricians and GP’s to coordinate treatment options.

You do not need a referral to make an appointment with a psychologist, however a referral from a medical professional in the form of a Mental Health Care Plan will enable you to receive Medicare rebates for eligible sessions.

Simone is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is an NDIS provider.
